I can think of many things that are excessive. While photographing on the Pike/Pine corridor on Capitol Hill, my eye was drawn to this grouping of trash. Something about it was appealing and the feeling was solidified when I saw the word “elle” written with a heart on the computer monitor’s screen. The “Elle” show was on view at the Seattle Art Museum a while ago. It was a collection of art by women that had shown at the Pompidou in Paris. I wondered if someone was responding to that and did someone write it on the monitor before tossing it out or after it was already on the sidewalk? This shot was with a Holga using Kodak Portra NC 400 ISO film.
