For the assignment of calm, I decided to go to the Arboretum. It was foggy which lends softness to the landscape that is otherwise not there. I took some double exposures with my Holga. With a double exposure, you are really not sure what you will get which is part of its appeal. I had this feeling that it would be congruent anyway, that is if I felt calm when taking the photograph then the image would also feel calm. When I think of a color that signifies calm, I think of shades of green. When I think of the word calm, I think of the breath and the feeling of being centered like this tree, which is not always easy to accomplish in today’s frantic world. This exposure was taken by a Holga. I used Kodak Portra, NC film, ISO 400.
